Typically post-divorce individual therapy is recommended to process loss and heal. The goal of individual therapy is for you to feel confident in this new chapter of your life. Weekly therapy is a very wise choice, but it is quite expensive. Ideally you would attend 12 months of therapy which would end up costing you roughly $10,400.00. If you chose to work for only 6 months it would still cost you about $5,000.00.  So, when you are considering the price of this program let’s not forget to consider how much weekly therapy would cost. Also, in this program you get community support, which will help you integrate your new knowledge, find companionship with people who are going through the same thing, and the very important reminder that you are not alone in your pain.

Who has the time when dealing with lawyers, looking for apartments, helping children, and continuing to work? That is why you can access the program whenever it works for you. You can even check it out when you cannot sleep in the middle of the night (speaking from personal experience). The lessons are available in video and audio format so you can listen to them while driving, waiting for your kids at the dentist, or anywhere you find a moment. The lessons are designed to be no longer than 20 minutes so you can squeeze it into your busy day.

First let me say good for you! Taking care and learning about yourself is key to healing and growing. Having a trusted person who knows you and your deepest feelings is so valuable.  Your relationship with your therapist will never be replaced by this program but can only add to what you already have. Let’s stop for a minute and please pat yourself on the back. The fact that you have done a lot of work on yourself already is fantastic since I know how hard it is to focus on you when you have so many things competing for your attention. As Brene Brown says, “only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover our infinite light.” There is no end to exploring yourself just as there is no end to light. There is a module in this program that deals with proactive vs reactive communication with your ex-partner. Even if you do not have contact with your ex partner these are great tools to use when dealing with anyone you have had a conflict with and still need to interact with. This could be a boss, a family member or even your whole thanksgiving dinner table!  The focus of this program is on building you up so better strategies to communicate are all for you, baby!

This program is for anyone who has experienced the ending of a significant relationship. Marriage is a legal category defined by state courts, but you can feel the depth of loss of a relationship whether you have a legal document or not.

We consider fur babies children in this program (trust me my dogs are my other babies)!  There is a module in this program that focuses on co-parenting which can apply to fur babies and shared groups of friends. Sometimes after divorce we still share other things with our ex not just children (houses, cars, friends). What is cool about this program is that you can pick and chose the modules that apply to you.  

The effects of divorce don’t have a linear time frame. They can pop up at anytime. Remember that carnival game “whack-a-mole” where the minute you hit a mole on the head another one or three pop up! Well, this is how feelings about post-divorce can act if we have not fully processed them. When we push feelings away or down they pop back up and come out sideways. We can still hold on to pain even if it has been a long time since we lived with this person. Have you noticed a strong or surprising reaction when you hear a song or see a movie that reminds you of your relationship?  This is an example of how we still hold things in our body regardless of how much time has passed.

It is never too early or too late to take care of yourself. Being proactive or thinking ahead and planning is a great way to ensure your transition into post-divorce life is as smooth as possible. Giving back

I simply could not have made it through my divorce without the help of others. I took what I needed to survive and am grateful to be at a point where I can give back.

In order to give to those most in need I will be donating  5% of my fees to the following charitable agencies:

Sanctuary for Families: Jewish Orthodox Matrimonial Project.  This project was launched in 2015 because Sanctuary recognized get-refusal (divorce refusal) as a form of gender violence that harms women, their children, and the wider Jewish Orthodox Community. The project provides clinical and legal services, shelter, and economic empowerment to hundreds of Jewish Orthodox women and their children. Furthermore, they built a network of advocates committed to raising awareness about domestic violence within the Jewish Orthodox community and protecting the rights and wellbeing of survivors.

Her Justice: Her Justice stands with women living in poverty in New York City so their clients – many of whom are survivors of intimate partner violence – can get free legal counsel to achieve safety and self-sufficiency including divorce proceedings.
